“Growing up with Gerry Goffin and Carole King as parents, I witnessed the transformative power of music firsthand. I saw how both my parents channeled their emotions into songwriting and it deeply influenced my understanding of how creative expression empowers people to be authentically themselves. I also was deeply impacted by my father’s lifelong struggle with mental health. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder, he faced the ongoing challenge of maintaining mental balance and managing medications throughout his life. For him, songwriting became a lifeline – the one thing, he often said, that kept him sane.” 

Through this fund, we carry forward Gerry’s spirit, fostering a space where songwriters can connect, create, and discover the transformative power of songs that shaped his life and countless others.
